I had some amazing luck this week. I was given (for free) a fully functional KIS systems kiosk that had the computer ripped out of it. 15" Dell monitor with ELO Accutouch 3000U touchsceen system installed, speakers, amplified, power management, all included, all working.
This kiosk was used for some POS stuff, so on the front panel there is a barcode scanner, a credit card scanner, and a slot where a receipt is printed out. The slot is slightly larger than a CD/DVD .
I had started piecing together components for a jukebox previously and have a notebook slot-loading DVD rom drive and a 120GB notebook hard drive (WD 1200BEVS , ripped from a WD Passport).
I'm trying to figure out the best way to mount these, however the screws needed for these components are TINY. Also, the kiosk has a metal bottom, but I want to mount the motherboard in there somehow without having screws hanging out the bottom of the machine. Any starting points on how to mount these?

Try the heavy duty version of the Scotch brand double-sided foam tape. It's in a red package next to the regular stuff at Home Depot. It's much thiner and bonds well to wood and metal if the surface is somewhat smooth and cleaned with alcohol first. I've used it to mount a large hard drive to the side of my metal coin box. It says "permanent" on the package, but I've been able to remove it with a little effort. I had to remove some from wood before and it damaged the finish.

Depending on the components, you can also use metal straps to clamp the parts on (screw each end into wood and put the strap over the component).

without seeing exactly what you are trying to do..here are my suggestions.
get some small metal corner braces for mounting the drives, you can pick these up at Lowes or something pretty cheap.
for mounting the motherboard, i like to mount mine to a piece of wood, then you can mount the wood to the cabinet...it just makes it a little easier to work with that way

@enskpo :
Not a bad idea, but the metal has a powdercoated finish and I don't feel link sanding finish off to get the tape to adhere.
@bkenobi:
The metal straps sound like an ideal way to mount the power supply. I wasn't thinking about them but I like it.
@severedhed:
The small metal corner braces will most likely be how I mount the notebook components (the slot-load drive and the notebook hard drive). My biggest issue is where the hell am I going to get the microscopic machine screws used for the notebook components?
I'm either going to do wood + plastic stand-offs or get the metal standoffs used in cases and mount some of those on the bottom, but that should solve it.
Thanks guys for your help..
I'm definitely still open to other suggestions!
