Title: Good source for artwork
Post by: BrianP on October 05, 2009, 04:20:45 pm
So I am getting closer to the end for my first project (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=84197.0) and I am thinking about artwork.  Mostly because I only want to wire once, so I want to have my control panel artwork in place before I wire.

I was looking at Mame Marquees (http://www.mamemarquees.com/) but I am worried a little about the price ($148 to $234 without the plexi for the marque itself).

I looked at the wiki for Artwork vendors but most haven't been updated since 2006 (MM was in 2007 and ArcadeShop in 2008).

Anyone have opinions that are a little more current?  Happy with MM?  Happy with someone else?

Dude, what size marquee are you printing to have a marquee to cost 148-234 dollars...

Recheck that ...the marquees on MameMarquees are anywhere from 20-40 depending on finish you wanting....

That was for the whole set.  The marque would be about $25.  The control panel about $30, side art $52 or $138 (depending on which one I want), and monitor bezel about $35.  I still need to confirm sizes of what I need to prices.

I tried some google searches, but I don't see a lot of places selling all 4 parts, unless I went with a specific arcade machine (ie Mrs Pac-man or Galaga).

Scott (Mame Marquees) did a great job on the marquee I'll be using on my cab.  Professional level quality, and well worth the money.  I'd recommend him without reservation.

For the whole cab, that price doesn't sound bad.

Get your plexi for your marquee and bezel from somewhere else. Locally in the Bay Area I use Tap Plastics. You may have somewhere similar near you. Lots of choices in materials and they will be cheaper in most cases than if you get your plexi from your artwork supplier.

The prices on the artwork you listed seem fair.

Scott did a wonderful job for me... he noticed an error with my art work... notified me... and re-did it!  He is just a class act all around and the overlay for my control panel is amazing!

Thats not all that bad really,
I have built several multicades and the art always costs close to or around 2 bills.
Don't cut corners with one of the most important parts of your cab.
Most of the time you really do get what you pay for.
Scott has a good rep.
