This is considdered 'likely' released artwork for 'Sega Racing Classic' which appears to be the next Daytona USA title. I believe the name has been changed as 'Daytona USA' is now a registered trademark of the Daytona International Speedway so Sega would have to pay to use the name.

Check that, the bottom corner of the graphic features the RingWide logo which is a Sega arcade platform. If this is going to console, looks like it'll go to arcade first. Which sucks cause it'll probably be freakin' impossible to find an arcade that'll have it. God it's hard enough to find Sega's Outrun 2 or Outrun 2 SP in arcades here and that's from almost 8 years ago!
I'd like to know if a home console release is planned or. For for some HD next gen Daytona action I'd certianly pay up to get it on Xbox 360 or from XBLA.
Of course, this game MUST contain the song. The only song that can represent Daytona. Doot doot doot doot, doot doot doot doot, doo doo, DAYTOOONAAAAAAH!

Given they've had to change the name from Daytona USA to Sega Racing Classic, I suspect the chances of the music having the classic 'Daayyyyytonnnnaaaahhhh' are going to be pretty slim :(

Well "Daytona USA" is a trademark of the Daytona Speedway which probably puts it out of use for Sega without paying for it. Though 'Daytona' on its own is part of the name for 'Daytona Beach' which is a city in Florida. Not so easily trademarked. It's likely that the song could usable. Sega has certianly still RELEASED the song. The four disc Daytona USA sound track was released just this April for example.
However if the name of the game is 'Sega Racing Classic' then 'Daytona USA' might not be the theme song, for obvious logical reasons. Maybe we could still hear the song at Dinosaur Canyon if it features that track.
I sure do hope this gets a console port. I'd love to get some Daytona USA fun on Xbox Live. :3

They could just have the guy saying "Day Tuna!" and no one would be the wiser.

The game would look 2 decades more modern if they'd update the race cars from the 1990 Lumina's. Maybe thats where the "Classic" comes in though. :dunno

This is video of the actual cab running the game. It appears, asside from some updated music, logo graphics, higher resolution and native widescreen rendering; it's THE EXACT SAME GAME as the 1994 version. Same textures, same models, same maps. Hey, I'm all for Daytona USA but I thought they'd at least MAKE IT PRETTIER. Like how the Dreamcast version prettied it up?
I am sooooo disappointed. :(
