Hey,
I have an old Hitachi GMK-29FS2, which is a 29" (27" viewable) arcade monitor switchable between 15kHz and 25kHz modes.
I don't have the manual for it, and am attempting to determine what the 5 pots on the neck board are. Does anyone know, or have the manual for this monitor?
By the way, how should I go about cleaning this thing? It's disgusting.

I don't have any specific info for this monitor, but my 25" switchable pentranic monitor has 5 pots in a similar location on the neckboard.

In my pic, they are (left to right):
Blue bias, Green bias, Red bias, Red drive, Green drive
That's not to say they are the same as your monitor, but I would guess they are the color drive and cutoff pots, as well. Basically, don't mess with them unless you are having color issues with your monitor.
Here's a general monitor/pcb cleaning FAQ (http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&selm=CCHA7.37057%24Zb.17564191%40news1.sttln1.wa.home.com&rnum=1) complied by Clay Cowgill (www.multigame.com):

Cool, thanks for the cleaning tips.
So now, what is the difference between:
R/G/B Bias (neckboard)
R/G/B Gain (front-panel)
R/G Drive (neckboard)
How exactly do these affect the image? The monitor *does* lack the ability to display dark values, as explained in the following thread:

Thanks,
P.

My 29" monitor in my Japanese cabinet have the same controls. The 2 pots are the Red and Blue drives. The 3 are the RGB BKG pots.
I've only messed with the R/B. Never with the RGB BKG pots.
