He's a smart kid, writes his name, plays board games for up to 15 minutes and cheats...
I was thinking maybe a Wii Sports or an arcade that doesn't require too much explanation...
-
Best modern gaming platform for small kids is the N64. Easily. Lots of kid games that are very simple to pick up that are also not mindless garbage. Plus you can let them change the games all you want without fear of them getting destroyed by kid handling.
-
Pac Man, Ms Pac Man, Golden Tee, and bowling games etc in Mame are good for little kids like that. Super Mario War could be fun too. My daughters played that around 3.
-
take him outside and play with him.
-
It's a pretty big hassle to bring a TV and game console out into the yard every time you want to play.
-
I keep my console setup out there. Dog cage and grill cover. Gives him a little break after he's done plowing the fields without dragging mud into the barn.
-
Let him do kid stuff, he's got plenty of time for all of that!! :)
-
Gals Panic

says the fat kid.

I don't know too many 3 year old fat kids. They usually don't hit that fat until 6.

yeah from being inside playing video games for the last 3 years :p
-
I knew a girl that had the fattest 3 year old I've ever seen. You really wanted to slap her around for letting her kid get that fat.
-
My 5yo was playing Penguin Bros, Snow bros, Alex Kidd, Bubble Bobble and JJ Squakers when she was about 3.
But we just took her skating last night for the first time, so that's the new "in" thing :)

Along with your sarcasm detection unit, apparently... give it a little more exercise too.

yours is broken, I was just playing along.

Just try to keep a 3 year old boy from wanting to play a Mame cabinet with all the buttons and cartoony graphics... that and my 9mm, but boys will be boys, and he's bound to be clicking away one day when I'm not looking! :dunno
-
9mm?
You should put the fear of God into your kids when it comes to your guns.
My dad scared the crap out of me when he told me what his .357 could do to me if I ever played with it.
I never went near it after that. (He kept it hidden anyway)
Of course, yesterday I found his mugshots online. ;D

That makes the first time I've seen him in almost 20 years.... :lol

Wow... that's a helluva of thread derail there, Ginsu.
Yeah, I felt like throwing a curveball. It was in my head, so I posted it.
-
Anyway, do they sell a video game version of "the quiet game"? I think that's the best thing you could buy a three year old.
Yeah, it's called "volume=0db" on the TV.
-
my 2 year old always wants to play games, but just really doesn't grasp the concept a whole lot yet. that being said, World Class Bowling in mame is awesome. he sits there on the stool and rolls the trackball, and actually does pretty well most of the time. he finds it to be very enjoyable because once you get the game started for him, he can do it all by himself.
-
Couple of suggestions:
Dr. Toppels Adventure
Inspector X
Magical Cat Adventure
PowerDrive
SpinMaster
SuperPanic
Dynamite Dux
City Bomber
Cosmo Gang The Video
-
You have to just accept that a 3 year old has different goals than everyone else when playing a game. They don't care about objectives or scores or wins. They just want to have fun.
Pop in Mario Kart and go at it with him. Small kids love that game.
-
I remember back in the day having to wait my turn at arcade games that small kids were "playing" without any credits. That was always annoying.
-
It's funny. My 5yo has been fascinated by the Chess Titans ever since I showed it to her, back about a year ago.
She'll sit there for 2 hours playing that :dizzy:
I'd have never sat there for that long looking at a chess board when I was 4.
-
Now you'd love one as long as it's rusty and has rivets.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
You just HAD to go there.
-
Enjoy having that stuck in your head for the next 2 days.
:laugh2: :laugh2: >:D
-
No, because I didn't click it. Even though I unfortunately know the song, I didn't have to hear it, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Plus, just in case it might have a chance, I'm blasting the new Dethklok Dethalbum II in my headphones to chase it away.
-
If I was a lesser man, I'd Rick Roll this thread right about now >:D
-
For all ginsu knows that IS a rickroll after 10 seconds.
-
Well, for jim's kid, definitely.
-
I've seen the biggest ---uvulas--- in the world turn into fine, standup citizens after having kids. Of course, I've seen as many ---uvulas--- stay exactly the same after kids too.
It just amazes me that someone who loves arcade games still as an adult, can hate the thought of having kids to share them with. It makes zero sense. Please explain!
-

That ratio has to be a whole lot more than 1:1 in favor of ---uvulas--- staying ---uvulas---.

Arcade: Ripper Ribbit (easy one button game found sometimes at Chuck E Cheese type places)
SNES: Mario Paint

+1 World Class Bowling
My 3 year old also likes to jump in and play with the 6 yo on Simpsons, Simpsons Bowling, and Rampage.
-
+1 World Class Bowling
My wife kicked my butt last night on this. It was her first time playing. She hit four strikes in row at the end.
-
Doom3, Postal, Fear.
The kid will never go to bed. :laugh2:
