Title: Rookie here needs wall mount juke advice!

hola, First post here , glad I found arcadecontrols!

So I am in the market for a wall mounted juke and havent ever bought one before. Any good deals or advice you might have for me? i need it for a bar and just have no clue about this stuff...yet :')

any help  would be great

For commercial use you'll have to stick with a machine made by the major jukebox manufacturers. I like the Rowe "Berkely" wall mount CD jukebox. I have installed and serviced several of these over the years and they are extremely reliable. Here is some information:

Remember, in the USA the jukebox owner is responsible for buying a yearly jukebox copyright license from the Jukebox License Office lest you get sued for copyright infringement.

A wall mount jukebox does not come with internal speakers. You must provide your own external speakers and associated wiring & mounting brackets. The jukebox will only sound as good as the speakers connected to it.

All wall mount jukeboxes regardless of manufacturer come with a mounting bracket. You locate and secure the bracket to the wall then the jukebox hangs on the bracket. Special bolts provided keep the jukebox from being lifted off the brackets and stolen. You're going to need a couple of friends to lift the jukebox up onto the bracket then you can insert the special bolts and secure the jukebox in place. If you buy a used wall mount jukebox be sure you get the mounting bracket with it. If not then you call the jukebox parts distributor and order the bracket (around $150).

great, thanks Ken. I love learning new things!  About how much do those 100's & berkeley's cost? And the licensing stuff?

Brand new jukeboxes can vary in price from dealer-to-dealer just like new cars. There's a suggested list price of $6,500 for the CD-100 series and $6,000 for the wall mount Berkely.

Used Berkely's go in the vicinity of $2,000.

Many good used jukeboxes can be found on ebay, but it's a total crapshoot. Many sellers don't know how to pack a juke for shipping it and it arrives damaged at the buyer's location. Plus add in the freight charges. You're looking at $250 to $500 for shipping. I know a tavern owner that bought a CD 100 C on ebay from a guy in New York. When it arrived here in Olympia, the seller had left all the cd's in the magazine and they had all bounced out. Some were busted/chipped while others were badly scratched. The CD player had also jumped out of it's mounting bracket and was destroyed. The buyer had paid $500 for shipping charges then about $300 to buy new cd discs to replace the busted ones and another $300 for a new laser player.

Keep an eye on your local craigslist. Sometimes you can get a good bargain on a jukebox and it's local.
