Title: 32" flat screen cabinet plans
Post by: MR SAMSA on September 24, 2009, 08:42:20 pm
So I have this 32 inch Samsung flat screen and I plan on putting an atomiswave/naomi and mame project all inside of.

I was hoping that someone may have a link or some ideas on building a cabinet that would use the 32" screen.

I kinda like the tekken 6 cabinet design but cannot find a plan for it and was really hoping to find something more creative.

I probably will end up building two of these at least. The price of lcd's is dropping quick.

there aren't plans per say....but if you do some hunting you can find some designs you could easily modify to suit your needs.

here's a good one that got me started when I was researching.

Wow! Thanks man! He said that he hired a carpenter to complete the project.
Pretty amazing job...and pricey too. The monitor I have is only 720p and 32".
Thank link was very helpful! Thanks again.

Saint had several cabinet plans included on the CD that sold with his book (BYOAC).  They are also plans available here in the files section.  What you need to consider when using these plans is to ensure that when cutting the wood for the front and back of your cabinet, that you take the width of your monitor into consideration when measuring the width of these panels.  For example; if the plans say 30" wide and your monitor is 36" wide, you are going to need to cut them at about 38" or more inches to accomodate  your particular monitor.  Keep in mind that you will need room to affix mounting hardware around your monitor to keep it in place.

I have a 19" monitor with dreams of a 32" and have built my cabinet to allow for future upgrading of the monitor. Good luck-You are on the road to many years of tinkering.
