I recently ordered one of these joys
http://www.twistedquarter.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=446
Upon installing it. It seems if you twist the stick at all, the plate at the bottom will turn out of place so that it will no longer hit the microswitches.
My question is, are these just crappy sticks, or am I missing a part or am I just doing something wrong?
Thanks for any help, if I can figure this out, I'd like to order a 2nd one tomorrow. Otherwise I need to find another 8 way that I can get in both Black and Blue that looks similar to that one.

i havent personally used one, but everything i have ever heard about happ ultimate joysticks has been negative.
i'd go with happ competition sticks instead. GroovyGameGear (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65&zenid=db8898e403e95b23b0f84cbada885ac7) sells them, among other places.

YEP 8 way competition's is the way to go unless you go :notworthy:old school 8 way leafswitch

Ouch this sucks. an $8 Joystick turned into $24 + shipping.
The Blue ultimate I ordered, the shaft is different and doesnt match the black one (going one black one blue to fit theme). So now I gotta order a new black PLUS a new Blue.
And GGG is sold out of black :banghead:
Not my night :'(
Thanks for the advice. Ill do some shopping and see if I can find them.
Before I order, anything bad I should know about the competition ones ?

NOPE 8 way competition's work perfect worth every penny! you'll be happy in the end when your all done it doesnt matter how much you spend, Get what you want even if it cost extra you wont regret it in the end. This goes for all other choices because there is so much to choos from try to use it before you buy or ask many for there experience

the happ comp sticks are pretty nice..especially for the price of them. that sucks that GGG is sold out of black...but they are common sticks, you shouldnt have a problem finding them.
i'd check with divemaster in teh buyselltrade area. i've ordered from him a few times and have never been dissapointed. if you need them in a hurry though, you may want to look elsewhere, since he does this in is free time.

New stock is in. I updated the store if you want one.

Yes. Make sure the vendor you purchase from is making sure, as we do, that the actuators are free floating. Otherwise, you'll likely have performance issues. We have worked extensively with HAPP on this to get the issue corrected, and they have, but there is still some transitional stock floating around.

Randy has done an excellent job with the Comps to make sure they float freely. I bought two from him and they work great.

Thanks a bunch. I sent a PM to DM. If he doesnt have the corrected ones (since I already have a big order about to be shipping from him) I will head over to GGG and order them.

Just wanted to add an update here. There are apparently still issues with the Competition actuators from HAPP. Nearly 100 units came in yesterday with problems, so the issue is either not fully rectified as I had thought based on the good parts received prior, or there is still a lot of old stock floating around.
I just wanted to clarify this, as my earlier posts implied that new shipping stock was fixed, and based on my experience today, that appears not to be the case.
Regardless, if anyone orders Comps from us, they WILL get a perfectly functioning stick. We inspect every one of them before they get shipped to make sure.
