Hey guys...I've got a Universal white cabinet that I am trying to restore...I was wondering if anybody would have or know if there access to the vector artowork that these cabinets had...I can do it myself but if i can find where it has already been done...be less work to do...
This is the only photo that i can find of this blasted game....

It doesnt look very difficult to do...if you had the demensions or a photo of the cab that wasnt 3/4 view (straight on shot of both parts) Id be able to do it for ya in under an hour. Free of charge ofcoarse. Just let me know.

Ok so the sideart is done...now here is my next question....
I'm currently working on vectorizing the Control panel...the CPO consists of 2 panel prints...( the control part and an instruction card)...Ive never seen this done before and i was hoping I can get some direction... The design are somehow printed and mounted under a sheet of pexi... The pexi i know proctects the design from cigerettes and scuffs, etc...If i draw up these prints and take it to a sign shop, what do i ask for the guy to do?
I know i dont want to take the prints and sandwich them between 2 sheets of pexi...( because that top layer has no way of holding everything down....)
Any suggestions?

I just looked at that vector file, interesting construction method for the shape, but there are a lot of small details that need to be refined before this file would be 'print ready', if its accurate. There are a ton of squares drawn for the thick lines that have a little edge, they don't line up completely...the shapes are all separated like it was run through an autotrace, they aren't joined into concise paths. You can see from the keyline view....Just look at the paths made for the rounded edges (rounded rectangle shapes)...
The artwork will be done accurately eventually...you can see my Mr. Do! cabinet above has some problem areas...
The vector art for both the overlay and instruction card has already been done.
Waiting for someone to finance the project to have them accurately reproduced.

Rotheblog...I see what you were saying...I corrected what i could and sent it back to zorg...
The measurements should be correct...In fact, I'm printing out one on butch paper to take home and see if they are correct....
As for the non concise paths...When you have a wife and a two year old who constantly need tending after...you kinda forget things...but they work...
Here the orginal scans...for those who wants to see...
As for the overlay and instruction card ...can you share them...?
-
printed out the test copy on old butch paper yesterday...it fits, so it works

Can you show your print outs, cutout to shape, and taped up on your cabinet, or laid on top with the cabinet laying on the side?

What other Universal cabs was this art used for? I don't recall seeing the art on any of the Universal cabs I've seen in the wild.
(I'd search KLOV, but it's being a bastard tonight :badmood:)

I agree with you Sav...Ive never seen that side art either...I picked up two cabs that have that artwork...Ladybug & a Mr Do...( The MrDo cab was pretty shot) so I took the Ladybug cab and I got the measurements off them...Whats also cool is that the artwork was a type of laminate...

Most of the later games with the conversions had this artwork...and there may have been a few others.

Yeah, I quite like it. I seem to like the simpler, older, style artworks. I especially like the artwork that has that 70's kind of flavor to it.
