I have a 3' HAPPS trackball and i am in the process of laying out my control panel. I could sure use some direction on how to cut out the holes and how to mount the trackball so i don't screw up my control panel top?

a little more info might be helpful.
is it a wooden panel, or metal?
are you covering it with artwork/laminate/vinyl/plexi?
are you planning on using the trackball mounting plate?

yes it is a wooden panel (3/4 MDF). i do plan to put an overlay on it and after some minor research i think i am going to use the mounting kit. just looks to make life a bit easier.

mounting plates do make things alot easier. after you get your mounting plate, you basically cut out a hole large enough for the trackball assembly to fit through, but small enough so that the mounting plate still covers it, you use a router on the top of the wood to remove a small ammount of material so that the mounting plate can sit flush with the surface of the wood. that way you can cover it with artwork and not even know that it is there.
