Hi all,
I've recently obtained a late '80s upright cabinet and am trying to identify the monitor so I can hook up my ArcadeVGA card correctly.
The tube is a 19" Philips MVA48ABK05X and has a further label which states : 'Pix Tube s/n 093534'
This serial number ties up with a sticker on the heatsink on the main PCB: 'WG 093534'. Beneath this text are the numbers: '33978-03'
On the main PCB I found 'P447' and 'WGEC 1986'
I found a thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=45137.5) on here previously that implied that a 19" WG with a 'P447' main PCB is a K7191 - but I'm not sure if I'm reading that correctly.
I had a look for the manual for a K7191 with no success as yet.
Any info/advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

Yes, that's a K7000 series monitor.

Although K7191 was typically a 25" version....and used a P538 main chassis. (all still very similar)
You may find a label on the frame somewhere that says something to the effect of "19K7xxx".
Any of the 7000 series are good monitors, easy to repair, plentiful parts, etc.

Thanks for the info Kevin - much appreciated.
I've now managed to hook up the card/pc with some success. The screen is displaying very bright green and is rolling vertically before Windows desktop loads. Then the image just looks very hot ie. over saturated, very bright.
Will fiddle with the pots on the monitor to see if I can improve.
Also have a nasty red/magenta patch on the lower right of the screen - would degaussing help this?
Cheers again,

Any time you connect something to an arcade monitor there will be some manual adjustment needed. So you're on the right track.
Best to use a stable test screen of sorts when trying to adjust.
If using Windows you could try something like:
http://www.ykwong.com/checkemon.html or
http://majorgeeks.com/Nokia_Monitor_Test_d960.html
That colored patch does sound like a degauss issue..... should automatically degauss.
It will only kick on after the monitor has been off and cooled for a bit.

Ok , now have a half decent picture, degauss issue aside.
Have d/led the test apps you mentioned so will run them to try and find optimum configuration.
Got a strange issue with the ATI config app tho - it fails upon windows boot everytime. It was the one supplied for the ArcadeVGA card. QuickRes is loaded anyway so can pick resolutions from there, I just thought the ATI app may have allowed me to run the screen and my LCD monitor at different resolutions, handy for setting things up. Will investigate on the Ultimarc site...
Thanks again for your help, very appreciated..

You probably have a 19K7900 or 19K7600 monitor which of course is a k7000 series.
