Hi,
Another noobish question I'm afraid. Is the QSound output from the CPS-2 A board amplified? I know the sound coming from the JAMMA edge connector is, but I've seen reference to Capcom Amplifiers in the specs sheets for various CPS2 games.
Also (assuming it isn't amped) is there anything special about these QSound amps or could you theorically replace one with a standard Hi-Fi amp and some extra features like a sub-woofer channel?

The stereo RCA jacks on the CPS2 are just normal line level stereo audio. You can hook them up to anything you'd conventionally hook line level stereo audio up to such as a set of PC speakers or a component amp.
The "Capcom Amplifier" is the amp that Capcom included in their cabinets to drive the speakers in the cabinets. Nothing overly special about it as far as I know. I've used all sorts of amps with my CPS2.

That's great news thanks :D
