Title: looking for easy wii softmod guide,please help

Hi guys, i have a friend that has a wii, back in the old xbox1 days i was a good xbox softmodder, but i lost the interest in consoles and totally forgot about it, but now my friend wants me to softmode hes wii, i search alot of sites and google some info, but it looks way to much info for me, i get lost easy, talking about firmwares and cios, and much more.
So i was wondering if theres an easy softmode guide i can use to softmod my friends wii , probably thru an sd card or anything thats easy, he aint a fancy gamer guy, all he wants to do its to be able to play backup games, no online or homebrew. Thanks for any help.

um, it worked just fine.  I followed the instructions and about 2 hours later I had all of my games ripped to the external drive and working flawlessly.
