Hi all,
Was wondering if any of you have ever experienced this. I have set up my power button in Windows 98se so that when I press it, it shuts down safely via the software (proper shutdown.) It works great when I am in Windows. However, if I launch the Game Launcher front end and then press the power button, nothing happens... Game Launcher (GLaunch) keeps running as if I never pressed anything. However, when I exit the front end, THEN it shuts down windows. But it won't shut down until I exit the Game Launcher app.
Any ideas why it's doing this? I'd like to have one power switch on my cabinet and right now this is all that stands in my way.
Thanks in advance!

Are there any button/shutdown options in the BIOS ?

Nope. It's an old IBM Pentium II PC that I'm recycling, so the bios is old (from 2001).
The funny thing is... it shuts down like it should when in Windows. But the Game Launcher program, for whatever reason, won't let it shut down unless it exits. The Game Launcher is Windows based as well. I'm stumped.

I found something quite interesting. Some guy claims to have written a program that will shut down the PC when the FE is exited. However, I want the same button that powers up my PC to shut it down, so I don't think it will help. But here is the link anyway. Let me know what you think.

**edit** - I just realized "daoldman" wrote this program. I'm going to PM to see if he can shed some light on the issue.
