I've tried every wiring combination possible, but I can't get the monitor to degauss with the attached coil. The coil attaches (or at least that's how it was when I got the monitor) to what looks like a large white ceramic resistor with two diodes attached to it. Now obviously something is wrong because the coil never fires. Whats the deal?

Measure the AC voltage at the coil when you FIRST turn it on. (and it needs to be cold/off for awhile)
Could be a bad PTC component. Small black box near where the coil plugs into the main chassis if I recall correctly.

At the coil I get nothing. On the board where the coil plugs in it only goes up to about 4 volt for 5-6 seconds then goes back down. I guess that little black box is a problem. I'm still not sure if I have the wiring right off of the white resistor. The thick white wires in the picture are both going to the coil. The thin wires come off of the board.

Onboard degaussers have never worked for me. They fire off for only a second when the monitor is first powered on, not long enough to do any real help.

Well, I've been using the old coil plugged into a power strip method for about a year with good results, but Im working on selling this cabinet and I would at least like it to attempt to degauss.

Craptacular cell phone pics....... but see if these help.

Thanks Kev! Now I have my wiring confirmed. I guess its a board issue.

So what exactly should I search for on the internet to purchase a new "little black box"? I've found it easily enough on both sets of my G07 chassis, yet neither seem to function properly.
