ok so i stumble upon "outrunners" in mame and it's a duel monitor game..
i dont remember playing this particulat "outrun" in the arcade but it must have been a duel player sitdown.
a lot of racers have the multiplier option but it's usually though a link cable.
outrunners on the other hand is ran by a single board apparently.. so the game drove both cockpits apparently.
not only that but each can race independently as well as head to head.. IE it's like 2 games running at the same time.
was curious what other games was setup in a simlar way in mame, i know it has to be a short list..

cyberball 4 player apparently also uses 1 board to drive 2 screens also.
can play independently (1&2 vs comp, 3&4 vs comp, OR 1&2 vs 3&4) 2 different games or screen 1 vs screen 2.
come on there's gotta be more anyone else?

Space Lords (dual cabinet - pretty big) - you can either play the other side or not.
There are a few games for the Nintendo Dual System (like the red tent systems) can play both sides in one game.
In both cases there are actually two boards, but from the player's perspective the effecft is the same.

Run and Gun / Run and Gun 2
(basketball, fun and fast paced IMO)

I think there's some motocross/dirtbike dual game (by Sega?).
X-Men
Ninja Warriors
Some other side-scrolling shooter that used the same Ninja Warriors cabinet
Punch-Out
Super Punch-Out
T-Mek?

I think silent dragon has a mode to switch between a 2p, 4p, and 4p with 2 cabs option

guess i should have worded it a bit differently..
i meant games that drive 2 screens independently off a single board.. rather then 2 screens being ran by separate boards but linked or a game that just required more then one screen for a single instances of game play.
like cyber ball and outrunners.. they can play screen vs screen but they can also play 2 games independently.. apparently off a single board it's as if you have two copies of the game running in mame at the same time.
run and gun looks like it might be one.. although some reason there is'nt anyway to access the 2nd screen in mame.
the rest of those are games require 2 screens but are'nt independent (it's still a single game playing)
such as punch out, xmen (6play), and ninja warriors.
