Title: hantorex polo 25" blowing fuses...
Post by: oisuxx on September 08, 2009, 09:35:45 pm
wondering if anyone here could give me a bit of help. sunday night, i
was playing my arcade machine. its an old xmen vs. streetfighter jamma cab, converted to a mame machine via a jpac....
i heared a high pitched sound coming  from the machine but thought nothing of it. monday morning i go and hit the on switch......no picture. i can hear everything fine. i look
in the back and right by the monitors power supply(im guessing) there
is a little fuse. it's blown, so i figure thats the problem. i go to
radioshack get a new fuse, THAT one blows too. so i dont know what is
wrong with this thing. ive looked at schematics, but i have no idea of
what im looking at. has anyone encountered this, and fixed it? ive
been reading but all the terms are greek to me. (flyback, HOT...ect)

if anyone could possibly walk me through the fix that would be
awesome. the arcade repair guy by me wants to charge 170 bux for a
fix.....and 500 for a new one. i only paid 180 for the whole cab and
game. i dont wanna sink a bunch more into it.

thanks in advance!

remember that a fuse is an intentional weak link .
how the fuse fails can be indicative of the nature of the defect .
failing in a bright flash is usually a high load condition . such as a short.
a slow glow and then open is a load just above the fuse rating.

get a multi meter and follow the schematic accordingly
