Title: n00b- New Arcade Sticks
Post by: JenkNZ on September 08, 2009, 06:29:28 pm
Hi there, im new to the mame game. I've got the bug like i suspect most here :P
i just picked up some old controllers, i was intending on cutting the connection at the back of the plug, stripping them and wiring it up to an Ipac. Will this work?
i've attached (i hope) a pic of what it is... basically im just asking am i on the right track?
and.. Hi from New Zealand!

Depending on what you want to do with the rest of your cabinet, yes! Looks like you got a fairly neat, colour coded control panel there and although metal ain't the best for future modifying, it's a great starter panel and seems to have all you need from the off.

Not sure how common Molex connectors are in NZ, but I would consider leaving them on there. Wire your IPAC to female connectors and then plug them into the existing set. This makes installing/removing the panel clean and easy, and you can't mess up the wiring.
