Title: nintendo vs. monitor question
Post by: iscariot on September 04, 2009, 09:33:44 am
I've got a nice NOS nintendo VS monitor but I've never worked on one.  Is it possible to hook it into a jamma harness or is there some odd wiring trick I need to do?

Oh, let me update this... I know about the inverter board.  I was asking if I needed it or can I connect directly?

If the Sanyo has been converted specifically for particular Nintendo games, then yes you will need the Inverter Board.
It's easy to tell by looking for missing components replaced with jumpers on the chassis.

If you see the three transistor and resistors......then you don't need the inverter.
If you don't see them, then you either need the inverter or to replace those components to make it stock again.

So that's one in the picture that does not need the inverter to work with regular JAMMA games?

No...... that one in the picture DOES need the inverter...... missing components.
