Title: Speaking of Sega arcade game (see Virtua Tennis below)
Post by: aust_txv on July 13, 2003, 01:23:09 pm
Greetings,
One goal of my ever evolving cab...Play modern Sega games like VT, CazyTaxi, and those goofy fishing games.  My favorite question from guests in our home - "You mean that thing plays House of the Dead 2 ?"

The prize... a two monitor system two DC's with TwinSticks Virtual On cab.  I am very surprised with the company this site that this project has not been completed. ;)

Does anyone know the controls for VOOT arcade for the twin sticks ? For example  <--  -->  = jump ?

Also just noticed that the correct Sega title is "Virtua" not "Virtual"  - - so I corrected it.  BUT  VOOT is "Virtual"

Thank you,

TV

Heh, I'd love a copy of VOOT with twinsticks. It was by far the best version. The new Virtual On Mars is rubbish, and you can't play it on analogue sticks anyway.

I doubt many people here would have played the game. The arcade machines cost alot of money so they don't really sell alot outside of Japan.

I tried really hard to like VOOT and could never get over the notion that this was a rushed title.  The way the levels ended to suddenly and the crappy cut scenes.  Not to mention its virtually unplayable without the twinsticks, but with them, I wasn't even very impressed either.  :-\

The last twinsticks on ebay sold for over $100.  I couldn't imagine paying for 2 sets just to run over 2 linked DCs.

The most expensive controller I ever bought were the Dreamcast Maracas (the real Sega ones and not 3rd party).  2 sets of those were totally worth it (always a hit at parties).  ;D

Hi,

No no I won't buy two twinsticks @ $100 per but you can make one out of cheap two button flightsick type pc joysticks and your favorite happ 8way base and the dc pcb.  Also the saturn twinstick works, but still an import from Japan and still pricey getting to the US and the adapter.

I saw the two monitor VOOT cab on ebay a couple months ago.  I don't think it went for much until you ship it from the west coast to the mid west :)  Agreed the game (and sega for that matter) much more popular in Japan.

Thanks,
