Hi All!
My first post! :applaud:
Anyway, I'm finishing up by cabinet and I am trying to use LED Blinky with Maximus Arcade. MA seems to support it, and I do have some functionality, but I can't get the buttons to light for the games (i.e fire, jump, etc.)
Can anyone help? Maybe I don't have it configured correctly or maybe it's not a function supported by MA. I'm going nuts tho!
Thanks for the help. Great forum.

Do you have a controls.ini file somewhere?
-
No,. I don't think I have one set up. I see the one that comes with Blinky, how should I set it up in MA?
Thanks so much for the help!

I feel like I am very close, I just can't figure out what to do with the controls.ini file. I've been playing around with it for so long my head is about to explode. I'm new at this, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!! :dunno

well my friend here you go:
1. in ledblinkyconfig make sure you select MA as frontend
2. then go the mame tab fill out the boxes that are NOT optional
3. important to fill out where the mame.xml is located otherwise ledblinky would crash
4. in the maximus arcade preferences tool with every emulator go the tab led-wiz
5. select use ledblinky and select use ledblinky's own config
6. now go into maximus arcade run every emulator you can and exit MA
7. now go the ledblinky controls editor then go to unknown games
8. select the emulator you want and say yes to the default config option
9. config every emulator
et voila
for the controls.ini place it in your ini folder for mame (this is for mame only)
then select the location under the mame config tab in ledblinkyconfig

Please make sure you are using the latest version of LEDBlinky (v3.8 ) - it works much better with MA than the prior version.
njay - thanks for helping out here with the quick walk-through :)
One thing - if you're only running MAME then you don't need to worry about steps 6 - 9.

Hmm, LEDBlinky does not come with a copy of controls.ini. Normally you could download it from fe.donkeyfly.com but that site has been down for some time now. This thread should help: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=91711.msg962340#msg962340 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=91711.msg962340#msg962340)

Thanks so much for the help! I feel like I am almost there. One problem now.....
Nothing happens when I run the game. The log states the following:
Timeout waiting for Primary Instance Handle
Event Dropped (9~1943)
Any thoughts? Thanks again for all the help!

Does this happen every time you run a game?
From the LEDlinky config app (on the Misc Options tab), select the Debug Log and Verbose options. Then run MA and start a few games. Then email me the debug.zip file in the LEDBlinky folder. I'll take a look.
