Hey guys. At one point I had a working Turbo Ninja version of Mortal Kombat...

And here is some more info on it...

Then one day, it died. I could not get it working again, so I sent it in to see if the guys at mameworld.info could Mame it. Not only did they successfully Mame it, but they were also able to fix my board. They sent me the rom info and it works great...

Now because I owned the actual original roms and hardware, this is of course all legit. I just wanted to show that the game is now playable in Mame for those who were itching to play it.

The GAL chip crapped out. Without it, the game won't function. They incorporated the GAL information into the rom info, so the GAL chip isn't needed anymore.

So the necessity of that GAL chip will keep this from being bootlegged, correct?

It was a bootleg/hack to begin with. The GAL chip was integrated so you couldn't just dump the roms and put them in a regular board. They wouldn't work without the GAL. The Mame guys incorporated the GAL info INTO the roms so you don't need it anymore.

I had to see what "Turbo Ninja" was, looks pretty cool. I'd throw it in my cab if it were widely distributed.

So when will it be in mame?
-
i'd guess next release, it's already shown to work in the video so no reason for it not to be in the next release.
EDIT: correction, it's already out, .133u4

So... you are "YourMameMan" on youtube. I've been a subscriber for ~9 months, I really like your 'how-to' videos and status updates on your broken ---Cleveland steamer---. You were really frustrated about the GAL chip, glad its all fixed. I haven't logged into Youtube for a couple days, I'm looking forward to a new video! :)
