Hey guys,
I've owned this one for quite some time now and it was proudly in my car all the time. The seller (Mr.Atari) told me it was the last one he had.

Anyway, recently the hole tore so part of it is missing now. I'll try to fix it and hang it in my gameroom.
Thought it might be a nice project to reproduce these. It's printed on the "usual" baby-on-board sign yellow vinyl (I guess). The size is a hair less than 5" and it's square with of course rounded corners.
I saw Rich did a similar sign of Frogger, but that one's on metal and much larger.
I guess some will say "hey, it's Atari Corporation" and has nothing to do with Atari Games (Arcade) etc. but well, I don't really care :)
I do not have the means nor the knowledge nor the skills to re-work the "art" but I know there are plenty around here that can do it as it's pretty simple I guess.
It would be great if someone could have them printed too !
I leave it up to you guys :)
O, and I've got the full-res TIFF file right here if anyone would like to pick this up.

I can do it for you.

Hey that would be great. I'm currently away from home and the full size scan is on my Mac at home. Can you PM me your e-mail adress. I'm not sure how big the file is, if not too large I could mail it, else I can put it on my Public forlder on Mobile Me.

Any progress on this Mini77 ?
Thanks.

Been away on holiday the past week, but it's about done. Will probably be sometime today or tomorrow.

Looks like the "Player on board" font is called "Pump" but it is not free. The Atari logo is available in vector format on localarcade.com and the rest of the text is some sans-serif font like Arial. If you had the Pump font this would be a 5 minute thing. Draw box with rounded corners, fill it yellow. Draw a box with red stroke (10pt?) and no fill. Place the Atari logo and size. Type the text and size. Done.
I would have done it in the time it takes to type this reply, but like I said I can't find the font for free.

Google revealed......

Play on Playa!

And a PDF...
Edit: Looks like the PDF won't download properly, PM me an email address and I'll send the AI file.
-
I can host the vector version (pdf, or ai) on vectorlib.free.fr (http://vectorlib.free.fr)

Great work guys !!! :applaud: :applaud:
Could we get the copyright text in there too ?
Let me know if anybody needs the full size scan for that.
So far: Thanks !!!!

Isn't that um... illegal? IDK, I'm not a lawyer.

Yes, but do you play one on TV?

Yes, but do you play one on TV?
If I did, I wouldn't be sitting here on a Friday night with my high speed connection. ;D

I emailed the .ai file to those whose requested it. I've also uploaded it to my own hosting. Feel free to edit the file how you like. I think I was able to make a pretty close approximation of the original, I couldn't match the copyright text without using a licensed font. I'm pretty sure its a variation on Helvetica. Arial is known as the poor mans Helvetica so that was a pretty good guess. I've been using AI for about a week now and I'm liking it. Enjoy.

That's pretty much the definition of irony, isn't it?
Just messin around. It's late. I've had one too many cocktails. Nice work!
Oh, and if you look at the "y" in the copyright text, it may help you figure out what font it is - but I don't think it's Helvetica. The "y" in Helvetica has a bend in it, and it looks like there is no bend in the scan.

GREAT work, THANKS !!!!
If it helps to perfect the copyright, here's a bit larger detail:

WhatTheFont (http://www.whatthefont.com)thinks it's one of these:
1. Gothic 725 Bold
2. Akzidenz-Grotesk Next Med
3. AG Old Face BQ-Shaded
4. AG Old Face Shaded
5. Kwokwi-Regular
It missed lots of letters though, so who knows how accurate those are. Also, I have no idea how licensed any of those fonts are.
Good luck.

I pretty sure I can buy these bloank in bulk and screenprint these
Ill check with some of my suppliers and see if we can make this happen.

Looks like Arial Rounded would be a good fit, especially if you stretched the text horizontally just a bit.
