Just posted some new pics of my control panel on my site.

Almost ready to do the final touches. Total left to do on the cabinet is get a permenant tv (the one in there now is from our bedroom), plexi bezel, final plexi CP, sound and marquee setup.
Let me know whatcha think.

Looks nice, though I'd die without a dedicated 4-way. I noticed you're planning on edge-lighting it. I was just wondering how that would look the other day. I'll be interested in seeing how it turns out for you.
Cheers,
Eric

i like the dual layers on top to get the trackball flush...i don't have a mounting plate for my trackball so i'll have to steal that idea ;D
what is that top part made out of, plexi? would be nice to have clear plexi and then lay a design between the plexi and wood layer

Well, right now it's just 1/4" birch plywood over 1/2" MDF, however the 1/4" plywood will be used as the template to machine the 1/4" plexi to take it's place.
Would work fine to sandwich graphics under it as mentioned above, but I'm going to frost the entire panel (sand blast) so that when I edge light it, the entier thing glows. Usually you can do this with LED's fairly easily, but I think I'm going to run a slot around the outside edges and sink EL Wire in there to try and get a very uniform lighting pattern. I've done this often enough in my custom car audio installs, so I'm just transfering that knowledge to my cabinet in hopes of something a little unique ;D
May be a while before I get to acutally doing it though. Still trying to finish off the rest of the cab first.

dammit my post got lost!
Anyways... gndprx keep up the good work. I like your attention to detail/craftsmanship and slightly different approach to CP building.
I also like your MameWah skin with the controls/directions on screen...
Good job man! keep it up and keep taking pics of your progress!
