I have my jukebox set up now with onboard 2.1 Boston Acoustics Speakers. I love them, they fill the room, no problems. I am considering adding a sound system outside, nothing spectacular, my old 5.1 Sony Tuner at 100W/channel and some outdoor speakers. I'd like to use an FM modulator on the jukebox to send tunes to the outside receiver. Pretty vanilla so far, but here is where it gets dicey.
I'd like to be able to switch between my onboard speakers and an FM modulator. Preferably, I'd like the option to output to both at the same time as well, but that's not a deal killer. I can live with a software option or a hardware option...as long as it doesn't involve me unplugging one output and plugging in the other evertime I switch.
So, I guess the 2 options, if this is possible, are 2 sound cards or a soundcard with dual outputs (if they make such an animal). It seams that a dual output card may actually be set up for something like this, software wise. Any suggestions? :dunno

Unless I misunderstood your setup, why not just get a cheap splitter at radio shack, send output to BOTH the inside speakers and the modulator, and then just turn the outside tuner on when you want tunes out there?
Or do you now want to have the modulator on all the time, or something?

Yeah, I am strongly considering that option as it is the simplest and cheapest. I have the on board speaker control sitting on top of the juke, out of site. I can't remember if it has a power switch, but I can turn the volume down (if I want sound outside but not inside). I had kinda envisioned an A/B selector switch to make it a little more idiotproof. Then again, nothing in the basement is really idiotproof.

Ah, yeah, if you wanted the inside quiet but the outside loud, I could see having to adjust things.
But if you've got a vol knob accessible for the cab itself already , that wouldn't be too bad a solution.
