Title: FREX SimConMotion racing cockpit - nice!
Post by: RyoriNoTetsujin on August 21, 2009, 12:51:22 pm
Surfing around the net today found me this video:

Apparently a company based out of Japan called Frex builds and sells these kits.  Anybody here in the States have any experience with them?

More importantly, does anyone know of a DIY/BYO way of eventually getting to a rig similar to this?  ;D

Sadly, as much as I'd love to see a MAME and PC-game based driving cab, I'm guessing software compatibility is the big bottleneck to this kind of project ...

i dont think it could be practically done for most arcade games, some had moving cockpits but not many... that would be a awesome project but i agree the software would probably be an enormous hurtle.

it might be simpler to just wire the inputs to adjust the seat acordingly.. problem is it would also have to take in consideration things like speed in the game and shifting.. so you'ed have to get in there and monkey with the games programing on a game by game basis..  i would imagine.

the game he was playing was probably specifically for that.
