Title: We need programmers for Screen Savers & Dmx Lighting Control Software
Post by: kroach on July 11, 2003, 11:53:35 pm
1. I would like to see some programmers develope some screen savers to be used with VMJ.
2. These screen savers could be written as standard windows screen savers or as plugins to VMJ.
3. DMX software for programming lighting functions
4. DMX pop up control screen for jukbox lighting to control user selectable functions, random function mode, sound activation mode and step 1~? function mode(continually changing 1~? functions)

There has to be some programmers out there up for the challenge!

Thanks,
Kevin/ Digital DJ

Hello Steve,
The screen savers i would like to see something classic to go with the jukebox programs that are out there. I use Virtual Music Jukebox and would like to see something like the insides of an old jukebox, the player, changer and some old 45's stacked and ready to be played like the old round top jukes or even the seeburgs. Also it would be neat to have one that looks like it is playing cd's with the laser and the extra cd's ready to be played. Variations on these ideas are fine, i would like to get some input from people that have some Virtual jukeboxes to see what they think.

The DMX control i hardly know anything about, but what i would like to see is a program that we could use to set up functions(paterns) that the lights for a jukebox could do and we could control the paterns as i mentioned in the main post. This would be nice to just come up as a pop up screen activated by a button and then user selectable.
Hope this helps!

Where can I get the source code?  I can start working on the DMX source pattern control. Do you have the SDK?

Thanks for the response!
Here is a website that has the lights i would like to use or see used for virtual jukeboxes. Check out this website and it also has some drivers and software but not what we need to control the lights from the screen. The lights i have been looking at is the icolor cove and they have these in 6" sections now! They also have some demos on thier website to checkout, the functions and color blending that these things can do is unbelievable. Hope these drivers or software that is available there may help! I am not a programmer at all so i'm not even sure what the sdk does, but let me know if that doesn't help! :D

Here is the sdk you asked about! http://pro.colorkinetics.com/support/download/CKController.zip (http://pro.colorkinetics.com/support/download/CKController.zip)
