Title: Is This A JPAC Issue?
Post by: FrizzleFried on August 18, 2009, 09:31:49 pm
All of a sudden,  and for no apparent reason,  the pressing P1 START no longer is working as "SHIFT".  It still functions as normal when it comes to P1 strokes,  but holding it down no longer results in SHIFT being pressed.... as a result,  pressing P1 START and P2 START no longer exits... I can't get in to any of my menus from the keyboard, etc...  everything runs as normal from the keyboard though so that tells me something is going wacky with the JPAC,  no?

Anyone?  I just checked and my MAME.INI file hasn't been touched since June...  and it's just the SHIFT function.

Ah... solved... by (of all things) checking the manufacturers website. (durr).  Answer:  SHIFT stops operating if there is a stuck on button somewhere (or,  in my case,  a lose wire that grounded itself out).

Hmmm. I have a button input wire not connected to the edge connector because I broke the pin off for that one off the connector. I wonder if this is the problem with my JPAC not getting input on first time boot via PS/2?
