It has a vertical monitor, so no 2d fighters. I want to turn it into a dedicated cab or something; what kind of games came in that type of cab? I also have a klax cab, but im putting a cps2 game like xmen vs. street fighter in it.

vertical schmup, Raiden, 194X, even galaga, etc
maybe even donkey kong,pacman,mspacman,etc
what kinda games are you into?
-
Well im not a big fan of shooters, and a classic game would look funny in a cab like that. I almost want to put shock troopers in it; but i already have a big red 2 slot so that doesnt make any sense.

Shock Troopers is horizontal. (If you're looking for a vertical, that is...)

Assuming it is a 19" monitor "cut-corner" Dynamo cabinet (HS-1), then Ikari Warriors is the original dedicated game to use that cabinet:

There is a good chance that your cabinet was originally an Ikari Warriors in fact.
Victory Road (Ikari Warriors sequel) also used that cabinet, as did Guerrilla War (Ikari Warriors' first cousin), as well as the same controls and control layout. For my Ikari Warriors cabinet, I have all 3 boards to swap in it, plus Heavy Barrel (not SNK but it still used the same controls and layout). There are several other rotary games that work with Ikari Warriors controls too.
Though Ikari Warriors boardsets were manufactured with a JAMMA connector for the conversion kit, the dedicated version (which is far more common) used the 44-pin SNK pinout. Most of the other rotary games were JAMMA. For my machine I wired a JAMMA connector in parallel with the SNK connector to allow board swapping without a JAMMA adaptor.

I just put a 23.5" lcd monitor in and a 60-n-1 board in a dynamo I have. It is sweet. I did it for a buddy.

Mercs?

The cab when i got it was time soldiers, which is just like ikari warriors. But its not my type of game.
And that looks just like my cab, except the control panel doesnt stick out like that.

Assuming the control panel on your cabinet is the original one, then it was never an Ikari Warriors; as they all had the "cut-corner" control panels that stick out. It is still probably an HS-1 cabinet though. They could be had as generic empty cabinets with both types of control panels; and there is a good chance that yours was originally a generic empty cabinet. I don't know of any dedicated games that came in a non cut-corner Dynamo HS-1. I think Time Soldiers came in a Romstar cabinet.
Just put whatever vertical game you like in it (or make a vertical MAME machine out of it). Dynamos were usually generic cabinets; when they were used as dedicated cabinets by e.g., SNK, that was the exception rather than the rule.
Edit: You could make it into a Centipede, Dig Dug, Kangaroo, or Arabian and it would fool the average Joe. Dynamo HS-1 cabinets bear a strong resemblance to those styles of Atari cabinets.

I clicked it... and I thought for sure someone had started a cheesecake thread in the Main Forum... :laugh2:
On topic, though; if you go for a single game, I say Dig Dug is a great choice. Great game, and the original cab is very close in design to what you have.
