Just wondered on peoples thoughts on how high the control panelk should be, so that everything (ie joystick and buttons and possibly a trackball in the future) can fit.
I think my joystick and buttons will be roughly 70mm at most, so how much more space should I leave? Thanks

I don't have specific measurements because I have swappable panels on my cab, but what I would suggest is that you do what a lot of other folks have done and build a cardboard mock-up of your control panel before building a wood version. That way you can try several different configurations/sizes and find the one that suits you and your controls best.
Good luck!

If I understand you correctly.... you mean how "deep" the control panel box needed to store the joysticks, buttons... etc. right ??..
Most joysticks, buttons, etc... usually take about 2.5 - 3 inch clearance and you should be good....
but if you're going to install the DOT spinner... you'll need more space.... 4 inch clearance.... (I ended up have to get the Torando Spinner because I can't fit the DOT spinner on my panel....)
good luck....

Sorry I did my deepness, I have just been running in and out of the garage quickly typing, whilst also cutting.
I gave it 4 inches deepness, to be on the save side. I've basically cut all the wood now (except for drilling any holes on the panel etc) and I'm gonna go get some screws now so i can get it joined.
What type of paint can be used? Standard wall paint and a roller? (I want to paint it black for the meantime).
thanks
