Title: 4 player cp layout
Post by: vusteveii on July 11, 2003, 12:23:57 am
I know this isnt a traditional shape, but i kind of like how it looks and i think it will do a nice job giving players enough space to play.  The biggest draw back is that its 62" wide and puts players 3/4 sort of far from the screen.  I'm using a 27" monitor though so it shouldnt be too huge of a problem.  Also, will i be able to use the trackball to select games with the FE?  I havent really used much other then mame32, and i know that wont work well when i get it installed in the cab.  Can anyone think of any improvements on my button layout?  I spent a lot of time debating where to put the buttons around the trackball.

thanks

Invert the placement of the joysticks and the pushbottons, so that you can place them where the 1st, 2nd,3 and 4 players buttons are and viceversa. This would give a 45 degree angle allowing more elbow space. ;)

I think player 1s arm may get in the way of player 3s hand.  That viewing angle may not work too well either.  My cp is 48" wide and p3 and 4 still have an awkward view of the monitor.

Here is an early pic of it...
