Title: mamewah and merged roms
Post by: MrSaLTy on July 10, 2003, 07:26:22 pm
I have all my roms merged and I cant seem to get Mamewah to display all the
clones.  It just is displaying the 'main' rom for each game.  This is with the
latest beta version.  I thought there was an option for this in a earlier
version but I cant for the life of me find it in the newest beta.  Anyone have
any ideas?

thx

Most front ends don't check for merged roms.....  That's because crc checks are very time consuming and users would pass out from boredom before a list would be generated.  (Think about how long it takes romcenter or clrmamepro to load up)

Unmerge them and call me in the morning.  ;)

Up to v0.90 of MAMEWAH dealt with merged roms by using the -verifysets switch.  Although I have removed this atm, it will be making an appearance again in I guess a few releases time...

Also, do you have a complete set?  If so, then just use the 'DAT File Only' List Generation Method, and use a DAT file created with something like 'mame -listinfo > mame.dat'.  This will show up all the roms, although if you do not have a complete set this may not be good.

Hopefully you haven't un-merged all your roms already!

Thanks Minwah, but I do not use a complete set of roms as there are just so
many games I don't ever play 3/4 of which I never have even heard of.  I may
just unmerge the ones I really want to have clones show up and be done
with it.  Thanks for the reply and great job, everyone appreciates your work.
