Title: Best image host?
Post by: drpcken on July 31, 2009, 09:52:39 pm
I'm having alot of issues with imageshack.  It seems REALLLY slow.  I was coaxed in by the easy ability to upload and link from here but I'm trying to upload multiple images and it takes FOREVER.  Then creating a gallery seems cumbersome.   :banghead:

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

You could use the image posting thread if you're using them for here :)

I always used photobucket but recently I've been having problems when uploading photos. Some times it will randomly rotate the images after they have loaded for some strange reason. I can't use PB to edit and rotate them at work as I can't install flash.

The image posting thread works just great though :)

I use photbucket and Flickr - both work very well. There are many people who view this forum via work who will not be able to view your photos unless they are hosted here though.

P.S. Imageshack is well known to be a pop-up and spyware hellhole.

I find tinypic.com works rather well...  Plus they let you hotlink the actual photo- great for forums.

Not sure about retention though.

I've used Photobucket for several years. No real complaints.

Google is very good and rarely gets blocked by proxy servers.

A second vote for tinypic they give you resizing options and link code right after upload and are not blocked my many servers (yet) photobucket and flickr are blocked but not imageshack go figure.
