Title: wanting to pay for repair person or recomendation
Post by: PCMedics on July 31, 2009, 04:20:41 pm
Looking for a recommendation or person here who repairs arcade cabinets. I have a sly spy that the monitors picture is not very good. And i recently got a Ms. Pac-Man that the display does not come on, it just hums but you can trigger the coin mech and hear the game accept the coin hit player one or two and the game plays till you get eaten. The Ms. Pac-Man cab is in pretty nice shape  and would prefer to replace or repair the monitor then to mame the cabinet. I am in Northwest NC IN Boone  near the TN and KY borders 2 hours from Charlotte

You want to mame the Ms. Pac after you repair it? Try to find a old junker to mame. Something that's been converted a few times. There aren't many of the originals left and mame'ing one makes one less :)

Ms. Pac - plays blind - fix the monitor.
There's plenty of folks around here that do monitor work, just depends on how much you want or can do yourself or if you want to send the chassis off to someone.
Just need to know what make/model the monitor it is.

No, I would very much like to have someone repair or install a new monitor in the Ms. Pac-Man same for the sly spy not not as much as the Ms. Pac-man. If I can not hire someone with experience I would consider doing a monitor replacement with some good instructions. The machine appears all original with no obvious so far wiring hacks. That would be my least favorite option. I am an experienced pc tech and competent wood worker but would like to fix the  Ms.Pacman  before changing it to something else. Can provide a repair person full use of the pc shop for work to a monitor or replacing it. Not sure i want to try discharging a monitor for removal or shipping

Anything you can find on it EXCEPT the big label on the picture tube itself.
A quick snapshot of the main chassis may be enough as well.
