Has anyone else had trouble with launching a game from Project 64 in MaLa? Whenever I try I get a message stating "attempt to open file failed". My RockNESX is also giving me a message that it can't find the rom file. I thought this was really weird since it was able to generate the list of games. Just thinking that I may not have clicked on some option with the programs. Thanks for any help/advice you can give.

make sure you open Project64 outside of Mala first and set your settings to the right e resolution and to open fullscreen when loading a rom, now go into Mala and try again, same with rockness, also make sure you choose the right launch string from the emulator presets in Mala

OK got the go to full screen when rom started option turned on (it already was by default). This may be a stupid question, but the resolution options I found are for windowed and full screen; how do I know what to set them to? My launch strings should be fine, I just did what I did with MAME and my ZSNES.

launch string will be different to mame etc
use
%path%\%rom%.%ext%
windowed resolution is the window you see when opening Project64 outside of Mala fullscreen is the resolution of fullscreen
set fullscreen to the resolution of your desktop, windowed doesnt matter what it is

Sweet! That took care of the problem. Thank dungbettle! On all of my emulators I just have to hit my Esc key to exit the game and go back to MaLa, any idea how to make that happen with Project 64 and RockNESX? Thanks again for your help.

under other emulators put a tick in use hotkeys and also download the hacked project 64 from here

Thanks man! You rock. What does the hacked project 64 do?
