a DB25 has 25 pins..obv..
what if my CP has 26 buttons?
2 joys = 8
7 buttons each = 14
and a start+coin for each side = 4
= 26
I wanted to setup a DB25 switchbox for switching between PC and console..
but with 26 inputs..how could i do so?
its really only a problem with PC as I dont need so many inputs for DC or PS..
any ideaS?

With that many buttons you will have to compromise...also don't forget you will require an additional for ground...so really 27 in total.
I had a total of 29 required. I went the Cat5e route and ended up with 2 cat 5 cables per player with 1 cat 5 for ground. So I have P1-1/P1-2/P2-1/P2-2 and GND.
Your could do either 2 DB25 cables or use an IDE ribbon which would involve some hacking on the male side as you would need to strip a connector from an old motherboard/hard drive etc. or purchase something like this:
