Title: Arcade VGA worth it?
Post by: Rossman on July 24, 2009, 01:33:51 am
I have a computer monitor, a LCD, for my arcade screen, is it worth it to get an Arcade VGA video card, or should I just get a high end video card, considering that I will also be running games like Street Fighter 4 on it? Your thoughts?

if your gonna use a LCD screen then there is no need for a arcadevga, it's only useful if you want to output to a older CRT arcade monitor.

Ah, I thought one of its features was to give a more arcade monitor type look when using computer monitors.

The ArcadeVGA card is mainly used for connecting a real arcade monitor which runs at 15Khz.   Most LCDs run at VGA/SVGA/XGA res (31-60Khz)  or higher and a standard video card works better for these.
