Title: Anyone used Fablon?
Post by: LeedsFan on July 21, 2009, 02:00:11 pm
Just wondered if anyone here had ever used Fablon to cover cabinets sides with? Wondered what it was like to work with and how thick it is. Was hoping it might be thick enough to hide any imperfections. Or will it simply highlight them more? It seems cheap enough though to take a gamble.

I think in the US you guys get much more choice of laminate and plastic coverings than we do over here.

I got some to cover my control panel with. I haven't put it on yet but it is quite thin and from what I have read it isn't as good as the other laminates and stuff that are available in the US. Unfortunately, as far as I know fablon is just about the only realistic option in the UK.

When I did a search on this board for it I found someone covering whole cabinets with the stuff and he seemed to be pleased with it so I'm sure it will be fine.

Hmmmm... I had a look at the Fablon section in my local B&Q.  What can I say? It's fcuking sh!t.... lol.  :lol

I can't even source rolls of vinyl here unless I get it from UK Happs. But they want a minimum order of £50. Total bollocks. I can get laminate edging from B&Q (the curved bits) but not any of the sheet stuff. What is it with UK suppliers?!  :banghead:
