Title: Your arcade knowledge required please

I am mameing and old jamma cab at the moment. It is going to have a vertical 19' monitor with one 8 way stick ( probably a WICO ball top ) and one 4 way stick ( PacMan/Galaga ).
I was thinking of having just the sticks and 3 buttons for controls. My question is are there any vertical games that require more than 3 control buttons? Personally I can't think of any. Any clues?

Not sure about 8-way ones, but the most buttons I have found on a 4-way game is mouse trap (with 3).

There may be a newer shooter with a 4 button layout, but certainly nothing with 5 or more. You should be plenty safe with just 3.
