Title: street fighter 4 and hotrod problem
Post by: aardvark on July 19, 2009, 01:45:25 pm
i just started playing sf4 on my hotrod and i seem to have a problem - it doesn't recognize all 3 P buttons pressed at once so i can't do the ultra moves.
everything else works but any move with 3P's doesn't work - it works if i use the hotrod joystick and press the correct button on a 360 pad, so i can do the movement correctly.
The hotrod also recognises all 3 buttons being pressed in windows.

i've only just started playing it and i don't use the hotrod very often but as far as i can tell its working correctly.
any ideas?

i just tried street fighter alpha and akuma's teleport is working so all 3 P's or 3K's work in that game.

can anybody who has a hotrod confirm it actually works? it would be helpful to know if its my joystick that's at fault.

ok, i've tried using the second joystick and it seems a bit better. i even configured the 3P button to one of the other hotrod buttons and it works some of the time.
Its still pretty tricky to pull off some moves, trickier than it should be - i think it may be the hotrod controller, the game may not like it? (the encoder i mean)

i was going to convert the hotrod to usb anyway and have ordered an ipac so we'll see if thats any better - i assume people are playing sf4 with ipac controllers?

so far this sf4 stuff isn't going well - hotrod doesn't work properly, homemade DC joystick with adapter doesn't work at all :(

First check to  see  if all buttons are registering...

Go into training....options .....then input display... set to on and see which buttons your actually pressing  ;D

damn, it is working, the input shows it!!
but only on the the player 2 side, not on the player 1 side - pressing three punches doesn't work on the player one side (any two together works but 3 together doesn't, 3 kicks works though) - must be something to do with the buttons being ctrl, alt and space.

as for my problems with the player 2 side - that can only be because i suck at sf4.

thanks for the training tip, very useful.
