Title: Looking for a wireless arcade stick that works with Windows PC's!
Post by: dekar24k on July 18, 2009, 04:22:41 am
Hey guys!

I recently sold my arcade cabinet ( http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=90547.0 ), as I'm going to build a new and bigger one soon. Meanwhile I am looking to play some emulators again on my PC (which is hooked to my TV) and therefore I'm looking for a wireless arcade stick that works with Windows PC's. I have a couple of USB/wired arcade sticks somewhere around here, but the neatest would be using a wireless controller.

I know it's possible to mod a 360 controller and make a stick myself, but at the moment I don't have time to start on such a project.

So, does anyone know of any wireless arcade sticks for PC that are good? :)

I bought a xbox one (its white, don't remember the brand (noksomething?) then did the xbox->usb hack.  Works like a charm.

I was also going to swap out the buttons and joystick, but I haven't got around to it... (they are convex buttons and clicky), but I would have had to remove the weight (slab of rock at bottom, really) but it works fine without hacking.

Thanks but there are several USB-sticks out there, but AFAIK none of them are wireless. I've heard of some new wireless Hori/MadCatz sticks for X360 so I might use them with a PC X360 Wireless receiver. I'm also going to look for some nice wireless PC gamepads as well.

Thanks for the tip BTW!

do a wireless xbox controller hack. I did just this for my wireless arcade coffee table:

All the info you need to complete this task using a common ground wireless controller can be found here:

I also use the same table with the wireless gaming receiver when using it on my PC. Works great.

Nice mod rusolinio!

Well, I ended up ordering a Dream Stick 360 from www.dreamarcades.com . I simply don't have the time to make it myself nowadays and this stick is totally mod-friendly (it uses quick connects so you can easily swap out the stick and buttons). It also uses the X360 controller interface, so lag should be close to non existent. If anyone's interested I will post a review here when I receive it.

FYI I will be using this stick on a PC with a wireless Xbox 360 receiver USB-dongle. :)
