Title: ISO: Service for installing new Cap kit [NY/Long Island West babylon]
Post by: xxkodemanxx on July 17, 2009, 07:12:55 pm
Hey guys.

First off Im aware there are "how-tos" on the site about installing Cap kits..
but i feel this is a bit out of reach for me.

I dont have the time or the tools to complete the job :(

I got a new capkit for my Neotec monitor
monitor looks ok..cept it gets bright overtime and begins to show some Scanlines.

wondering if anyone was in the area and help a fella out.
pretty simple.

I wish I was closer to help.  A cap kit is not difficult if you take your time.  The screen pot you want to adjust is on the flyback transformer which is the large black cube attached to the chassis.  It will have two knobs, focus, and screen.  Screen is the lower one which it has been suggested to try and turn and see the difference.  You can turn power off and try adjusting, but I would only turn it a little to the left.  You can make this adjustment with the power on with no problem, but you do want to be careful what you touch.  Good luck.

i found those knobs..and with the machine off moved screen to the left..
turned on and it was brighter and more scanlines :O

ill try to the right next..

but ima wait till it discharges..
im too nervous.. it "hums" in the back when on..and it almost sounds like it comes right from that black box...so im too nervous to try again hahaha.

how long does it take a monitor to dicharge itself? :P

tried moving it back..screen went very white,....then shut down..

tried adjusting again..back to where it originally..was..

now its dead it seems...great...

went from some small scan lines and slight bright/fuzz...to no monitor at all..
