Title: Need help mounting a monitor in my first cabinet
Post by: Nick Rocco on July 15, 2009, 07:54:52 pm
I am planning to build a cocktail cabinet with some plans that I found from Kyle Lindstrom on arcadecontrols.com.

I am not sure how to mount my monitor and give it that nice finished look.

I have a 21" crt computer monitor that I think I need a mounting bracket for.  What king of bracket do I need and how can I get one?

Also, on most cocktails that I have seen it looks like there is some kind of frame under the glass to give it a nice finished look.  When I see a monitor mounted in a bracket (not in a cabinet) it has no frame.  Where can I get the frame and how do I know it will fit my monitor.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Those frames you see are usually on actual arcade monitors.  Are you going to decade the computer monitor?  If I were you I'd just support it from underneath.  Build a box for the computer components and then put the back of the monitor on top of the box and line everything up.

The frame you are referring to is a bezel.  They can be bought in all different shapes and sizes.  Check out Happ (but order from somewhere else):
