Which SNES emulator are you using? Does it work when you run the emulator manually (that is without Mala)?

Zsnes is the emulator I can program the controller in it but does not really work right . When i program them they show right in the input screen but then you load a game many of them start to turn on and off background sprites and displays in it.. This is the same thing that got me off maximums arcade i can always seem to get Mame emulated right but if i try to add others like Nintendo and Sega and game boy I run in to issues. I hope that makes sense?

I am not really following.  Mala does not have anything to do with how Zsnes interacts with your X-Arcade joystick or what sprites display or not.  You said that just like with Maximus you are able to get Mame running fine, but other emulators have issues.

Mala just provides a menu system to start up a Zsnes session.  It doesn't resolve issues you're having with the emulator itself.  It is usually necessary to first get the emulator setup and running satisfactorily by itself before
attempting to run it from a front-end such as Mala.

Sorry if I misunderstand the issue, but have you been able to get Zsnes running correctly WITHOUT Mala being part of the scenario.   Until you get it running correctly in full screen by itself, there's no need in trying to get Mala (or Maximus Arcade) to run it.

I will try to explain better. When I set up Znes i can map all the keys in the program it self to the tankstick in Znes. But when I start the emulator the  keys I have mapped start doing odd things like turning off backgrounds and sprites. There is very little customizing i can do in Znes it self regardless of if i open it from mala or the program it self.

FIRST POST...
Well whats happening is that the buttons (i belive player 2 and a few player 1) are mapped to the top row of numbers on your keyboard... these number buttons are triggering hot keys set in Zsnes.... basically your backrounds are disapearing because the button you are pressing on your joystick are hotkeyed to remove sprites and such... a simple fix is to go to "MISC" tab and open "misc keys" and remove EVERY hot key!!! 100% this is whats wrong
