Title: I have a mouse/screen saver issue
Post by: Ummon on July 14, 2009, 12:02:02 am
I changed my peripherals set-up. Before, it was my wireless keyboard/mouse deal to the PS/2 inputs, and everything else USB. Now, the wireless keyboard/mouse is USB and my spinner on my control panel is connected to the mouse port. Now my screen saver won't go on. If I disconnect the spinner, it does. What can I do?

Sounds like the spinner is sending a signal to the mouse port, even when not in use. Check the mouse port settings in Windows and see if the spinner has a dead zone that you can increase.

What OS are you running? Vista? XP?

It's XP SP3. I didn't see any deadzone kind of thing. However, at this point, it's not an issue, because: I wanted the PS/2 to USB cable that went between spinner and PC (which meant I needed the spinner in the mouse port) for the JPAC issue on my candy MAME, but I found an adapter for eighty cents, shipped, on ebay. Thanks, though.
