Hello all,
I've acquired a Donkey Kong Jr. cocktail cabinet and the monitor works, aside from having major burn in on the tube. I would like to do a tube swap with a TV. I believe this is the EZV monitor like the bigger upright cabinet, but in a 13 or 14" size. First off, what size is it actually--as I see both these numbers tossed around interchangably.
I could probably acquire a TV for next to nothing, should I be looking for a 14" Sanyo like this:

How difficult is this to do? I've done cap kits and other work but have never transferred convergence rings and the like.
Thanks.

Correction,
This is a 19" Sharp XM1801N chassis, therefore I would need a 19" tube from a TV? Anything to look for, should I stick with a Sharp TV, though I believe this tube is a Sanyo.

What does the label say that is stuck to the back of the tube ?
Should be a long number of sorts, may start with a letter.
Don't worry so much about "brand"..... tube size and neck pinout is where it counts.

Hi,
The number on the tube is "SHARP 470NVB22"
Thanks

Hmmm ..... that one may be a bit of an oddball to find an exact drop in replacement from a TV.
18"
Odd size, CR-31 neck pinout, 22.5mm neck

Aarrghh.. of course it's oddball, it's Nintendo. :( :( :( :(
Any suggestions or am I just going to have to live with the burn-in?
Thanks............

If it were a 19" 20EZV or Sharp XM-2001N then it would be a common tube. ;)

I certainly wouldn't spend a whole lot of time searching for a tube unless you come across another 1801 that was dead or something.
How about using a piece of tinted plexi over it?
