So I have a MKII PCB..and I recently bought this:

I bought it cause I basically couldn't wait til my monitor came in the mail..so I wanted to use it to test everything out.. but I'm having problems hooking it up.
This is my set up right now:

I know I don't have my sound card hooked up.. just testing for picture.

So I start everything up and these chinese letters come up:

Then this:

Then I hold down the "auto" button on the vga board which is supposed to automatically find what works best and colors come up:

WTF?!?!?! I go through every darn setting in the VGA board like the directions say.. tried changing screen size, inputs (Ypbpr/RGBS/RGBHV), brightness/contrast. I know everything is on cause the red lights are lit up on the PCB and VGA board. I know my tv works too cause I always hook the same chord from my computer to it.
Theres something i have to be doing wrong here cause I tried it on my UMK3 PCB and the same thing happened. Am I missing a wire or forgetting something? Sorry for all the noob lingo. Can anyone help me get this thing working?

You might get more response if you re-title your inital post to the name of that convertor, as some here have one and may be able to comment, but aren't recognizing your issue by the thread title.

That's what he called it.

What would you like me to call it? VGA converter.. HD converter.. he has a couple names for it.

I would hold the auto button to reset everything like it says to.
Then use the SW to see if it changes from one input to the other.
I'm gonna guess that the auto is only scanning whatever INPUT it's on, so I would think there would be something that popped up (osd) to show which input it was coming from.
:dunno

Ah.... so your MKII board wasn't even booting.
That's where the sound board helps. ;)
