I have a MKII dedicated cab. I got my JPAC from Andy at Ultimarc yesterday.
However now that I have it hooked up to my Jamma harness the keyboard no longer functions in Windows.
While booting up it works in bios however.
I emailed Andy with the details but so far his suggestions have not cleared up the problem.
He suggested
"Can you try going into the BIOS and disabling USB keyboard support, or Legacy USB support.
Also you could try turning off or on, Legacy Mouse support if this is an option.
Andy"
That didn't seem to help.
I have also tried hooking up 2 different keyboards (both work on my main PC and in bios mode on my MAME machine) and JPAC in the following ways:
Jpac plugged in as PS2 with keyboard plugged into the Jpac or plugged directly into the PC via USB
Jpac plugged in as USB with keyboard plugged into the Jpac or plugged directly into the PC via USB
Same thing happens. Windows boots up, self tests are passed but keyboard will not respond. Neither would any of the controls on my cab which I have now disconnected ALL of in case there was some kind of wiring short.
I am waiting for Andy to suggest something else.
Anyone else have any ideas?

The only other possibility I can think of is some problem on the motherboard which is causing the power on the PS/2 keyboard port to drop out when USB devices are connected.
If poss, it might be worth plugging the items into another PC to test.

Unfortunately I have tried plugging everything in via USB and everything via PS2 and I have tested everything on this PC as well except the arcade VGA because this mobo is pcie.

try
plug jpac to USB
keyboard to PS2 (in the MOBO, not thru jpac)

I got my problem fixed but a new one has arose.
I emailed Andy but I will post it here as well.
After trying every combination I could think of trying to get my Jpac and keyboard working I tried installing a powered USB hub. I plugged the keyboard into that and plugged the Jpac into the PS2 port.
Everything booted up and I had keyboard control!
Once the HID drivers were all installed I tried it without the HUB and the USB and PS2 keyboards both now work when the Jpac is plugged in as PS2.
I am scared to try it as a USB device but it seems I wont have to.
However now I have another problem.
I have an older model ArcadeVGA AGP card.
I do not have the original disc and the current drivers disc that came with the Jpac gives me an error saying that the drivers are not for my device. So do some other drivers I found online from 2004. Do you have any other versions?
I have tried uninstalling and using the ATI cleaner program you have on your site. I have also followed these steps I read online:
"A quick search shows your error to be a fairly uncommon Installshield error that no one seems to know the exact cause of... A couple of possible solutions folks had listed:
Try running the installer in compatibility mode for 98/ME.
One person claims to have gotten this error installing a Radeon 8500, and was able to solve it by doing the following:
1. Start XP in Safe Mode by holding F8 key at boot start.
2. Disable "Radeon 8500" driver in Device Manager. Do not re-start.
3. From Add/Remove programs, uninstall ATI Video Drivers. Do not re-start.
4. Open C:\Windows\System32 and delete ATI*.*. There is a Ati???.dll that
is causing problem as cannot be deleted normally."
That didn't help either.
I read online something about having SP2 causing trouble with an install of arcade VGA. However with getting my PC set up before hand with hyperspin and mame and mugen and all my emulators and music etc I am very weary of doing a format and install with an OEM version of xp without service packs.
Once again any help is appreciated.

I have tried three different drivers now.
No dice.
Still waiting on Andy and some other tips.
Thanks in advance.
