These are very cool, Crazy Taxi is one of my favorite games.

Yeah i really like crazy taxi to. I traded that one for a Sanfrancisco rush machine i had restored. The crazy taxi is worth more but was in semi bad shape. Im happy i did the trade now though i play it ALOT more than i ever though about playing sanfrancisco rush.

I want your Crazy Taxi Cab. Gimme!
I'm actually gonna build my own racing cab at some point soon, and this game will feature heavily.

<in a golem-like voice> nice candys, nice candys
Um, how is crazy taxi different than any other driver from that period?

It's addictive as hell, with a killer soundtrack and a very different game aim than traditional racers. Plus it's not unfair like many arcade racers, where time limits were set at unachievable levels to rape your credits.
Once you could do the boost correctly and drift fast you could get one credit to last you 15-20 minutes; not common with 'simulation control' arcade machines that became prevalent after 2000 where a pound would last you a minute every time.

TrAb,
How did you hook up your XBox 360 to the Monitor in your Blast City cabinet?

Excellent Crazi Taxi cab (",)
I've only just discovered the game recently after reading about it in retro gamer. Also, a friend of mine loves it- his brother was on the 3d chip design team for the dreamcast so naturally he had a dreamcast at home. But hadn't played it since he lived with his brother in London. You shoulda seen his eyes pop when i slipped the gamecube version into my Wii without telling him!

I dunno. All I saw was wild driving and fantastic, unrealistic crashing.

You just have to play it i guess, its no racing sim thats for sure but i think its alot of fun...

It's the free form of it that appeals. You go where ever you want. Of course if you don't maximise your fares, you won't go far. That's the challenge. And it's funny, which isn't common in arcade racers...

And that's not fun?
If you want realism you could always go play a game where you navigate a yellow pizza that has no eyes and takes drugs round a neon maze getting chased by ghosts and occasionally eats massive fruit to keep his cholesterol down.... ;D
