Hi guys,
Browsing a thrift store today, came across a dedicated, all original Phoenix cabinet. Complete with marquee, CPO, and side art. All looks really good.
The downsides were that it was not working and the curmudgeonly owner would not let me have a look inside. He just kept bleating, "as is!"
So if I assume the insides are bare (no PCB, or other parts. Monitor is installed but I have no idea if it's still good or not), would a C-note be a good deal for the cab?
Reasons I ask is because if I buy it, I'll have no desire to convert it to MAME or Jamma so it's worth little to me if I can't get it working, or can't find a Phoenix PCB, monitor, or other parts. At that point, I would simply resell it.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

if it is in good shape and you are looking for a restore project, and you have the money, then i say go for it.
even if you cannot find the original hardware right away, you can always use a PC and do a dedicated mame setup until you find them.
at all comes down to if it is worth $100 to you.

Thanks for the reply.
Think I'll go pick this puppy up tomorrow. It's pretty cool. If I do, I'll throw up some pics.
Thanks again.

I'd get it.
That would be a great deal.

Grab that ---fudgesicle--- by the lapels, and say I'm not buyin it till you show me what's inside. No gameboard equals no sale. What a piece of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.

If you want it for yourself and you're not trying to make money on it I‘d say, if you have to ask if it's worth it, then it's not.

I agree..... if the guy wants to make the sale.... what's a five minute peek gonna hurt ?!?
You're already interested in it, that five minutes could seal the deal.

He may not have the keys and isn't willing to drill the locks. If he has the keys then he's a schmuck and I would walk.
